The Washington Redskins announced Friday that they have re-signed restricted free agent RB Chris Thompson.
The second-round tender will cost the Redskins $2.746 million for the 2017 season.
Thompson, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2013. He was unfortunately waived at the start of the 2014 season, but re-signed to their practice squad just a day after being cut.
Last year, the Redskins tendered Thompson a one-year exclusive rights contract.
In 2016, Thompson appeared in all 16 games and rushed for 356 yards on 68 carries (5.2 YPC) and to go along with 49 receptions for 349 yards receiving and five total touchdowns. He also contributed 360 kick return yards.
