Redskins Re-Sign TE Niles Paul To A Three-Year Deal Worth Close To $10M

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Redskins have re-signed TE Niles Paul to a three-year deal worth up to almost $10 million.

  • Jason La Canfora reports that “several” teams were interested in signing Paul.

Paul, 25, was set to be an unrestricted free agent in the coming days and was considered to be a potential value signing for teams in need of a tight end.

The Atlanta Falcons were specifically mentioned as a team that could be interested in Paul had he been available given that Kyle Shanahan worked with him in Washington.

In 2014, Paul appeared in all 16 games and caught 39 passes for 507 yards receiving and a touchdown for Washington. Pro Football Focus has Paul rated as the No. 59 tight end in the league out of 67 qualifying players.
