The Washington Redskins officially released DE Frank Kearse on Saturday, according to the NFL Transactions list.
- Washington also promoted OLB Houston Bates from their practice squad.
Kearse, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2011. However, he lasted just a few months in Miami before he later signed on with the Panthers.
Since then, Kearse has played for the Titans and Cowboys before joining the Redskins on a one-year contract back in May. He was set to make a base salary of $660,000 for the upcoming season.
In 2014, Kearse appeared in 15 games for the Redskins and recorded 15 tackles and three sacks.
