Redskins Release LB Adam Hayward

The Washington Redskins announced Friday morning that they’ve released LB Adam Hayward.

This gives the Redskins an open roster spot to add someone before the start of training camp.

Hayward, 32, is a former sixth-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2007. He spent seven years in Tampa Bay before signing a three-year, $3 million contract with Washington in 2014.

Unfortunately, Hayward suffered a torn ACL last August and was subsequently placed on season-ending injured reserve.

In 2014, Hayward appeared in 11 games for the Redskins and recorded 12 tackles.
