ESPN 980 reports that the Washington Redskins have released RB Ryan Torain.
Last year Torain was an effective option for the Redskins but he hasn’t been able to get much of anything going this season and the emergence of Roy Helu and Evan Royster have left his as the best third option at running back.
Torain is a bruising back but injuries have impacted his effectiveness and it may for teams to explore other options rather sign him to fill out their backfield.
