Redskins Release Veteran OLB Rob Jackson

Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports that the Redskins have released veteran OLB Rob Jackson as they trim their roster down to 75 players.

  • Aaron Wilson reports that the Redskins have also cut WR Cody Hoffman.

Jackson, 28, re-signed with the Redskins back in April and received a one-year contract worth $795,000.

Two years ago, he made 14 starts in place of an injured OLB Brian Orakpo and produced 4.5 sacks.

In 2013, Jackson was limited to playing just 186 snaps for the Redskins in a reserve role. He finished the year with 19 tackles, two sacks and an interception.
