Yahoo Sports’ Jason Cole reports that the Washington Redskins have release WR Jabar Gaffney.
There’s been some talk that Gaffney could be released in the near future and it looks like those rumors proved to be true. Washington has made it a point to upgrade their receiving core, so the fact that they invested nearly $30 million guaranteed in the likes of Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan only made it more likely that Gaffney was going to be available at some point.
Interestingly enough, Gaffney is coming off of a season in which he nearly total 1000 yards receiving and five touchdowns. He’s also been pretty consistent in recent years, so he’ll probably catch on with a new team in the coming weeks.
