Redskins Releasing Veteran DL Ziggy Hood

The Washington Redskins are releasing veteran DL Ziggy Hood on Tuesday, according to his agent.

Hood, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Steelers back in 2009. He played out his rookie contract with the Steelers before signing a four-year agreement with the Jaguars in March of 2015.

Hood lasted over a year and a half in Jacksonville before signing on with the Bears during the 2015 season. After the year was out, the Redskins signed to a future/reserve contract and later re-signed him to a two-year, $2.7 million contract last year.

In 2018, Hood has appeared in five games for the Redskins and recorded three tackles and no sacks.
