Redskins RB Derrius Guice Initially Diagnosed With Sprained MCL, MRI To Come

According to Ian Rapoport, the initial diagnosis for Redskins rookie RB Derrius Guice is that he has a sprained MCL. Guice is still scheduled to undergo an MRI on Friday.


Redskins rookie RB Derrius Guice said after Thursday’s game that “all is well” regarding the knee injury he suffered.


Ian Rapoport reports that Redskins rookie RB Derrius Guice will have an MRI tomorrow just in case there’s any serious issue with his knee.


The Washington Redskins announced Thursday that second-round RB Derrius Guice is being evaluated for a possible knee injury.

Guice, 21, was selected with the second round of this year’s draft by the Redskins. According to OverTheCap.com, Guice signed a four-year, $4,541,936 contract that includes a $1,383,224 signing bonus.

During his three-year college career at LSU, Guice rushed for 3,074 yards on 471 carries (6.5 YPC) to go along with 32 receptions for 250 yards receiving 32 total touchdowns over the course 35 games.
