According to Brian McIntyre, the Redskins have signed exclusive rights free agent DE Doug Worthington to a contract extension.
- McIntyre adds that Worthington will receive a one-year deal worth $495,000.
Worthington, 26, was waived by the Redskins back in June after he suffered a biceps injury. He didn’t play in a game this past season, but he did appear in six games in 2012. According to Pro Football Focus, Worthington played just 39 snaps in 2012 totaling three tackles.
He’ll get an opportunity to compete for a roster spot during training camp.
