Redskins Sign Former Eagles S Earl Wolff To Futures Deal

The Washington Redskins announced that they’ve signed S Earl Wolff to a future/reserve contract on Thursday.

Wolff becomes the 10th player to a sign a futures deal including:

  1. DL A.J. Francis (NFLTR)
  2. WR Matt Hazel
  3. LB Rufus Johnson
  4. DL Joey Mbu
  5. OL Ronald Patrick
  6. DB Shak Randolph
  7. TE Wes Saxton
  8. WR Kendal Thompson
  9. T Isaiah Williams
  10. S Earl Wolff

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.

Wolff, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2013. He was entering the third year of his four-year, $2.37 million rookie contract when the Eagles waived him with an injury settlement back in August of last year.

Wolff later signed on to the Jaguars’ practice squad and was brought back on a future/reserve contract this past January. Unfortunately, Jacksonville waived him with an injury designation coming out of the preseason and he later reverted to their injured reserve list.

The Jaguars cut him loose a week into the season.

In 2014, Wolff appeared in seven games for the Eagles and recorded seven tackles and a pass defense.
