Redskins Sign OL Mike McGlynn

Michael Perrett, the agent for veteran OL Mike McGlynn, announced via his Twitter account that his client has signed with the Redskins.

McGlynn visited with the Rams and Redskins, and was set to meet with the Packers.

McGlynn, 29, started 14 games for the Colts last season. However, Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 73 guard out of 81 qualifying players last season. McGlynn really struggled at both pass and run-protection, so there is some question about his ability moving forward.

  1. We have a horrible football franchise. I really am sick of it. Our line ranked very well in Pro Football Focus. We actually put up plenty of points when weapons were healthy. Alfie had no problem doing his thing, Garcon was a monster, and when Griff got Reed to go with that it was on! Our defense, was pathetic, every single down….run, pass, special teams, whatever…

What does that say? New defensive coordinator, replace all safety play, add an elite corner, grab an elite run stopper at ILB, and let it gel then watch your money produce. Give Garcon a solid option on the other side that makes all the other weapons work. Spend money on defense and add weapons. What did we spend money on?

Defensive lineman, not terrible, I like the move, not a need persay but sure. Riley was horrid against the run and better options available but i’ll take him as one of the two. Akeem was very good in limited action but has never attempted to be anything remotely close to London ’12, roll of the dice….big time. Hall, worth the money but finally paid like the CB2 he is, nice, let’s bring in a CB1 like we needed for a long time. Nope, we will trust a one year vet who missed much of his rookie year. Saftey play was solid last year, no worries, WHAT!?!?!?!?!? We re-sign one of the guys who provided us that utterly disgusting play and allow all the rest to sign, morons. Our defense is screwed, as is our season, like it or not. Without a miracle from Phillip Thomas, Amerson, or a draft pick this season, we don’t have a Top 10 so taper expectations, elite QBs will murder us and running through the gut won’t be too tough….again.

Let’s get RGIII some weapons, he was elite when Garcon and Jordan were healthy, he needs at least two solid weapons and boom. James Jones, Erick Decker….Lance Moore? Nope. Andre Roberts. How about adding two of the worse guards in all of football? Check.

This franchise is pathetic. I will still buy merchandise and tickets because that it what we do. Why? Not a freaking clue. I know nothing different? Clemons, Verner, Moore, Ward/Byrd/Whitner, Dansby and that is a wrap, playoff bound…. but no….
