Redskins Sign OT Darius James To Futures Deal After Original Contract Was Disapproved By NFL

The Washington Redskins officially signed OT Darius James to a futures contract on Monday.

As of now, the Redskins have signed seven players to futures deals including:

  1. T Roubbens Joseph
  2. RB Elijah Wellman
  3. DT JoJo Wicker
  4. C Casey Dunn
  5. WR Tre McBride
  6. RB Russell Hansbrough
  7. OT Darius James

Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.

James, 25, originally signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn back in May of 2018. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract but was waived coming out of the preseason.

The Redskins actually signed James to a futures deal last week, but the contract for disapproved by the NFL for an undisclosed reason. Although, it appears the Redskins and James fixed the issue and resubmitted it to the NFL.
