Redskins Sign QB Connor Jessop, Waive WR Allenzae Staggers

The Washington Redskins announced Sunday that they’ve signed QB Connor Jessop to a contract and waived WR Allenzae Staggers.

Staggers wound up going undrafted free agent out of Southern Mississippi before signing on with the Redskins a few weeks ago.

During his two-year college career with the Golden Eagles, Staggers recorded 107 receptions for 1,636 receiving yards (15.3 YPC) and 12 touchdowns to go along with 11 rushing attempts for 103 yards (9.4 YPC) and no touchdowns.

Jessup wound up going undrafted out of Shepherd back in May. He actually took part in the Redskins’ rookie minicamp this past May, but wasn’t signed to a contract.

During his final year at Shepherd, Jessop threw for 3,532 yards while completing 249 of 394 pass attempts to go along with 40 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
