Redskins Sign Three Players To Futures Deals Including LB Desmond Bishop

The Washington Redskins announced Monday that they’ve signed three players to reserve/future contracts Monday including: DL Jerrell Powe, LB Desmond Bishop and DL Christo Bilukidi.

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and training camp.

Bishop, 31, is a former sixth-round pick of the Packers. He spent five years with Green Bay and helped them win a Super Bowl before he suffered a serious hamstring injury that cost him the 2012 season.

Bishop later caught on with the Vikings, but unfortunately suffered a torn ACL and was placed on season-ending injured reserve. The 49ers wound up signing him to a one-year contract in March before releasing him with an injury settlement at the start of the season.

In 2014, Bishop appeared in two games, recording two tackles for the 49ers.
