Redskins Trading CB Kendall Fuller To Chiefs As Part Of Alex Smith Deal

Field Yates reports that the Redskins are sending CB Kendall Fuller to the Chiefs as part of the trade for Alex Smith.

This means that the official trade details are:

Chiefs receive:

  • CB Kendall Fuller
  • 2018 third-round pick

Redskins receive:

  • QB Alex Smith

The trade agreement with the Chiefs and Redskins can’t officially be processed until March 14, which is the first day of the 2018 league, but Smith has already agreed to a four-year, $94 million extension with Washington, so this deal is happening.

Fuller, 22, is a former third-round pick of the Redskins back in 2016. He’s entering the third year of his four-year, $3.12 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $647,500 and $750,000 over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Fuller appeared in all 16 games and recorded 55 tackles, four interceptions, a forced fumble and 10 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 23 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.
