Redskins Tried Out 3 Players Including OL Orlando Franklin

Master Tesfatsion reports that the Redskins brought in free agent OL Orlando Franklin for a tryout on Thursday. Washington also worked out centers Taylor Boggs and Max Tuerk, according to Tesfatsion.

Franklin recently worked out for the Giants but wasn’t signed to a contract following the session.

Franklin, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Broncos. He finished playing out his four-year rookie contract with Denver and signed a five-year, $36.5 million contract that included $20 million guaranteed with the Chargers back in 2015.

Franklin was set to make a base salary of $6 million for the 2017 season when the Chargers designated him as a post June-1 release. The Saints signed him to a contract back in July but released him a week later.

In 2016, Franklin appeared in all 16 games for the Chargers and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 66 guard out of 72 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
