Redskins Re-Sign S Duke Ihenacho

Update:

The Washington Redskins announced Wednesday that they’ve officially re-signed S Duke Ihenacho.

John Keim of ESPN reports that the Redskins have extended a low-round tender to restricted free agent S Duke Ihenacho.

The low-round tender will cost the Redskins $1,671,000 for the 2016 season and give them the right of first refusal on any contract offer they receive. However, if they elect to not match an offer sheet, Washington would not receive any compensation for him.

Ihenacho, 26, re-signed with the Redskins on a one-year exclusive rights deal worth $660,000 back in March of last year, but unfortunately suffered a season-ending fractured wrist a few weeks into the 2015 season.

Last year, Ihenacho appeared in a single game and recorded three tackles for the Redskins before being placed on season-ending injured reserve.
