The Washington Redskins waive/injured WR Jerry Rice Jr on Sunday.
The Redskins signed him to a contract back in June, but he unfortunately suffered a torn labrum that will require surgery.
Rice Jr went undrafted out of UCLA/UNLV, but he managed to tryout for the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers this summer.
Washington currently has 12 other receivers on their 90-man roster, so the odds of Rice Jr making the 53-man roster are very slim.
He recorded just 19 receptions for 142 yards receiving and no touchdowns during his two years in college. However, he managed to catch a touchdown for UNLV in the Heart of Dallas Bowl last season.
