Redskins Waive LB Nick Moody, Promote LB Lynden Trail

The Washington Redskins officially placed LB Nick Moody on waivers Friday and promoted LB Lynden Trail to their active roster.

Moody, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2013. He was a restricted free agent this offseason, but the Seahawks elected to not use a tender on him, making him an unrestricted free agent.

The Redskins signed Moody to a contract a few weeks ago.

Moody was suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season for violating an NFL policy.

In 2016, Moody has appeared in one game for the Redskins and recorded a single tackle.

Trail, 25, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Norfolk State back in May of last year. He wound up being waived coming out of the preseason with an injury designation and was later cut with an injury settlement.

The Redskins signed him to their practice squad midseason and later brought him back on a future/reserve contract. After once again being a final roster cut, the Redskins signed him to their practice squad. The Rams signed him to a contract back in September but waived him to make room for DB Isaiah Johnson.

Trail has yet to appear in an NFL game.
