Redskins Work Out Former Lions TE Tony Scheffler

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Redskins brought in former Lions TE Tony Scheffler for a workout on Tuesday.

This probably isn’t a great sign for TE Jordan Reed and the hamstring injury he sustained this past weekend.

It is, however, interesting that Scheffler even worked out for an NFL team as he previously announced his retirement.

Scheffler, 31, was a second-round pick of the Broncos back in 2006. He played eight season and totaled 258 receptions for 3,207 yards receiving and 22 touchdowns over the course of 107 games.

We’ll have more regarding Scheffler and the Redskins as the news is available.
