Redskins Worked Out Nine Players Including QB Paxton Lynch

According to Howard Balzer, the Washington Redskins brought in nine free agents for tryouts on Monday including QB Paxton Lynch.

The full list of tryouts for the Redskins includes:

  1. TE Evan Baylis
  2. TE Pharaoh Brown
  3. TE Vince Mayle
  4. WR Michael Floyd
  5. WR Tre McBride
  6. WR Breshad Perriman
  7. WR Kendall Wright
  8. QBs Paxton Lynch
  9. QB Josh Woodrum

Of this group, the Redskins signed Perriman and Floyd to contracts.

Lynch, 24, was taken with the No. 26 overall pick after the Broncos traded up from No. 31 overall to get him in 2016 NFL Draft. Lynch signed a four-year, $9.4 million contract that includes $7.88 guaranteed and was set to make a base salary of $1.31 million this season when the Broncos waived him this last weekend.

In 2017, Lynch appeared in two games for the Broncos and completed 66.7 percent of his passes to go along with two touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for 30 yards.

Wright, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Titans back in 2012. He played out his four-year, $8.218 million contract with the Titans before they elected to pick up his fifth-year option back in May of 2015.

Wright wound up signing a one-year contract with the Bears last March worth up to $4 million and was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the second straight year when he agreed to a one-year contract with the Vikings back in March.

Unfortunately, the Vikings released him coming out of the preseason.

In 2017, Wright appeared in all 16 games for the Bears and caught 59 passes for 614 yards receiving and one touchdown. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 40 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.

Floyd, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2012. He played his four-year, $9.972 million contract before the Cardinals elected to pick up his fifth-year option in 2015.

After he was arrested for DUI in 2016, Arizona elected to cut him loose and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Patriots.

The Vikings signed him to a one-year, $1.41 million contract last year and it took until July for him to secure an opportunity with the Saints. However, he was released coming out of the preseason.

In 2017, Floyd appeared in 11 games for the Vikings and caught 10 passes for 78 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
