Redskins Worked Out Veteran C Brian De La Puente & RB Storm Johnson

According to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post, the Redskins brought in veteran C Brian De La Puente, RB Cyrus Gray, and RB Storm Johnson for tryouts in recent days.

De La Puente, 30, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of California back in 2008. He’s since played for several teams including the Chiefs, Seahawks, Panthers, Saints and most recently for the Bears.

Unfortunately for De La Puente, he was placed on season-ending injured reserve close to a year ago and didn’t generate much interest in free agency.

Last year, he appeared in eight games and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 8 center out of 41 qualifying players.

Johnson, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Jaguars back in May of last year. However, he was unfortunately waived during roster cuts a few months ago.

During his rookie season, Johnson ran for 86 yards on 29 carries (3 YPC) to go along with two rushing touchdowns and one reception for -4 yards receiving.
