Redskins Signing Veteran C John Sullivan

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Redskins are signing veteran C John Sullivan to a contract on Tuesday.

  • Mike Garafolo reported earlier that the Redskins were bringing Sullivan for a workout.
  • According to Garafolo, it’s possible that Kory Lichtensteiger‘s calf injury could lead to him being placed on injured reserve, so they may need to add a center in the coming days.

Sullivan, 31, is a former sixth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2008. He had two years remaining on his six-year, $25.6 million contract when the Vikings cut him loose after they were unable to find a trade partner.

Sullivan missed all of 2015, due to multiple back surgeries.

In 2014, Sullivan appeared in all 16 games for the Vikings. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 12 center out of qualifying players.
