Reggie Wayne Announces Retirement From NFL

Long-time Colts WR Reggie Wayne tells Mike Chappell of CBS 4 that he believes it’s time to call it a career and retire from the NFL.

“I think so, bro, yeah,’’ Wayne said Friday in a phone interview. “Yeah, I’m done.

It was fun, but it’s time. It’s just time. Whenever you can admit that you’re done, you know you’re done.’’

Last year, the Colts allowed Wayne to sign a one-year contract with the Patriots. However, he was later released at the start of the season.

Wayne, 37, is a former first-round pick of the Colts back in 2001. He spent 14 seasons with the Colts before he sign a one-year contract with the Patriots. However, he was later released at the start of the season.

Over the course his career, Wayne recorded 1,070 receptions for 14,345 yards receiving and 82 touchdowns. Wayne is a six-time Pro Bowl selection and was a first-team All-Pro in 2010.
