Report: 10 Teams Prepared To Make “Titanic Pitches” To Ndamukong Suh

Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, citing three league sources, reports there are as many as 10 NFL teams prepared to make “titanic pitches” to impending free agent DT Ndamukong Suh.

According to Robinson, the Lions are among these teams, and despite the fact that it would run them close to $26.7 million to franchise Suh, sources have said that Detroit is “keeping the option on the table.

Head coach Jim Caldwell was asked about the team’s plans for Suh this offseason, and he made it clear that Suh one of their top priorities.

Robinson’s source specifically mentioned that cap-rich teams like the Jaguars, Browns, Raiders, and Jets are expected to be among the interested team’s in Suh this offseason. The Falcons could also be a team to keep an eye on.

Robinson mentions that Suh’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, is believed to be seeking a deal that would make his client the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL, and ultimately exceeds J.J. Watt’s six-year, $100-million that includes $51.8 million guaranteed.

Suh, 27, has recorded 51 tackles, 8.5 sacks and three pass defenses over the course of 16 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 3 defensive tackle in the league.

We have Suh ranked as the No. 1 player in our Top 50 – 2015 Free Agents List.
