Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the San Francisco 49ers could get OLB Aldon Smith from suspension on Monday.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk previously reported that Smith could be back before his nine-game suspension is up due to good behavior.

The 49ers are also getting back a number of other players including DT Glenn Dorsey, LB NaVorro Bowman and RB Marcus Lattimore, so there is talk that they could trade a few defensive players to create roster space for these players.

The 49ers have a 4-3 record and are coming off of a bad loss to the Broncos, but they are still in a decent position to make a run at the playoffs and win the NFC West.

Smith, 25, still has two years remaining on his contract after San Francisco picked up his fifth-year option several months ago. It will be interesting to see if he’s capable of stepping in and returning to his previous form.

We’ll have more updates regarding Smith possibly returning next week.
