Report: 49ers G Mike Iupati Suffered A Fractured Fibula

According to Matt Borrows of the Sacramento Bee, 49ers G Mike Iupati suffered a fractured left fibula during Sunday’s game.

  • Borrows adds Iupati’s fracture will not require surgery and doctors believe this is a “good” break in comparison to how bad it could have been.
  • Borrows mentions that Iupati should be back at “full strength in eight weeks.”

HC Jim Harbaugh told reporters following the game that Iupati has been diagnosed with a fractured left ankle, so it appears as though the injury was worse than initially believed.

Iupati was selected to the Pro Bowl this year, but he will clearly be replaced in the coming days. Pro Football Focus has Iupati rated as the No. 35 guard in the league this season.
