Report: 49ers WR Jon Baldwin Restructures Contract

Field Yates of ESPN reports that 49ers WR Jon Baldwin has agreed to restructures his contract.

According to Yates, Baldwin’s 2014 base salary will be reduced to $645,000 and include another $755,000 in incentives that can reach be next season.

Baldwin, 24, was scheduled to make $1,274,765 during the final year of his rookie contract. However, he has lived up to being a first-round pick, so it’s not surprising to see the 49ers ask him reduce that figure.

San Francisco is trying to re-sign WR Anquan Boldin and possibly lock up QB Colin Kaepernick to a long-term deal, so all cap saving count at this point in time.
