TMZ Sports is reporting that Vikings RB Adrian Peterson was cleared in the second case involving him disciplining one of his children.

Sources have informed TMZ that  the case went nowhere is because Adrian did not strike the boy in the forehead. Instead, the injury to the child occurred after he hit his head on a carseat while Adrian was punishing him.

According to TMZ, this form of discipline was “not impermissible” under Texas law given that parents are allowed administer “reasonable punishment” to their children.

KHOU 11 News in Houston is reporting that Vikings RB Adrian Peterson is being investigated for another abuse accusation involving another one of his kids.

According to the report, Peterson hit his then four-year-old son last June while he was visiting him. The boy was left with a scar on his forehead.

In text messages sent to the boy’s mother, Peterson said that he could have avoided the scar had he not cursed at his brother in the car.

Mother: “What happened to his head?”

Peterson: “Hit his head on the Carseat.

Mother: “How does that happen, he got a whoopin in the car.”

Peterson: “Yep.”

Mother: “Why?”

Peterson: “I felt so bad. But he did it his self.”

According to the report, Peterson told the mother: “Be still n take ya whooping he would have saved the [scar].” No charges were filed against Peterson, but the boy’s mother die file a report with Child Protective Services.

Since this a new case, the expectation is that this evidence can be used as evidence in the current investigation involving Peterson.

The Vikings announced Monday that Peterson will play in their Week 3 matchup, despite the fact that they deactivated him for Sunday’s game against the Patriots. However, this news only adding to the building pressure on Minnesota and the league to take action against Peterson.

Minnesota has said that they plan to allow the legal process to play out before considering any discipline for Peterson.

Peterson’s first court date has been scheduled for October 8 at 9 a.m for the incident in which he beat his son with a switch that injuries severe enough for a doctor to report it to authorities as a child abuse.

We’ll have more updates as the news is available.
