Dwight Freeney, Adrian Wilson & John Abraham All Set To Meet With Patriots

Dwight Freeney

Tom Curran reports that free agent DE Dwight Freeney will be visiting with the Patriots on Friday.

Freeney was said to have interest from the Broncos, but they’re still waiting to see what unfolds regarding Elvis Dumervil and a potential pay cut before pursuing anyone else.

New England appears to be shopping for a defensive end as they’re also expected to meet with John Abraham.

We have Freeney listed as the No. 7 best available player in our recently updated Top 50 Free Agents list.

John Abraham

Mike Garafolo reports that free agent DE John Abraham will also be visiting with the Patriots on Friday.

The Patriots tend to shop around for value this time of year, so I’m sure we’ll be hearing about a number of free agents visiting in the coming days.

Adrian Wilson

Ian Rapoport reports that sources have informed him that free agent S Adrian Wilson will visit with the Patriots at some point in the near future.

Many expected Ed Reed to be the veteran safety the Patriots would consider, but there’s no reported interest or meeting between the two sides in recent days. In fact, Reed seems poised to sign with the Houston Texans.

Wilson’s drawn very little interest since being released, which isn’t surprising given that markets for players who have been cut loose tend to take a little while to develop. New England could use some additional help in the backend of their secondary, so we’ll have to see what comes of this.
