Report: B.J. Raji To Gauge Market Value Before Considering Return To Packers

Ian Rapoport reports that Packers DL B.J. Raji plans on gauging his market value over the next few days before considering a possible return to Green Bay.

  • Rapoport adds that there is a chance Raji could be back on a one-year deal with the Packers, but nothing is imminent at this point in time.

Bob McGinn reported earlier in the week that the Packers have made Raji both one and two-year contract offer with the one-year deal being worth $4 million.

Assuming that is correct, it’s hard to blame Raji for wanting to see what the market offers.

Raji, 27, reportedly turned down a contract extension that would have paid him $8 million annually last year. He hasn’t record a single sack since 2011, although that could have something to do with the Packers approach towards their defensive linemen. Even so, it’s not a very marketable stat for a guy who is heading into free agency.

We have him listed as the No. 41 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
