Report: Bears Bring S Christian Thompson In For A Workout

Aaron Wilson reports that the Chicago Bears brought free agent S Christian Thompson for a workout this week.

Thompson, 23, was a former fourth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens. He appeared in six games for them during the 2012 season, but was released back in October shortly after he finished serving a four-game ban for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.

There is no question that the Bears are in need of safety help, but it’s hard to view Thompson as anymore than gamble at this point in time.
