Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Chicago Bears appear to be on the verge of re-signing LB D.J. Williams.
- Wiederer adds that a deal could be finalized before the start of free agency.
- According to Wiederer, Williams would become the “frontrunner” to start at middle linebacker next season.
Williams, 31, signed a one-yea deal with Chicago last season and totaled 27 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble over the course of just six games. He suffered a torn left pectoral muscle that subsequently ended his season.
