Bears, Giants & Steelers Finalists For Hard Knocks?

Update:

Greg Aiello of the NFL tells Mike Freeman of the Bleacher Report that the report regarding the BearsGiants and Steelers. being finalists for Hard Knocks is “totally inaccurate.”

That was short lived.

The BearsGiants, Bills, Cardinals, Jaguars, Raiders, Rams and Steelers are still among teams that can be forced to participate in Hard Knocks this year.

Hopefully, we’ll have a better idea of who’s being considered for the show in the coming weeks.

According to Tomm Looney of Fox Sports Radio, the NFL and HBO have narrowed the list of teams in consideration for Hard Knocks to the Bears, Giants and Steelers.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell recently told reporters on that “several” teams were interested in being featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks this year.

There were a lot of discussions with clubs at the March meeting [in Orlando, Fla.],” said Goodell, via Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times.

There are several clubs that are interested in doing this. I just don’t have an update on which club, whether it’s going to be a volunteer or if it’s somebody who is going to have to fulfill the obligation. But I’m sure that decision will be made pretty soon.”

All three of these teams fall into the category of the franchises that can be forced to participate in the show if someone didn’t volunteer ahead of time.

Other teams that fall into this category include: Bills, Cardinals, Jaguars, Raiders, and Rams.

A decision regarding who will be featured on Hard Knocks is expected to come at some point in the near future.
