Report: Bears Interviewing Saints OC Pete Carmichael

Pro Football Talk reports that the Chicago Bears are “currently interviewing” Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael for their head-coaching vacancy.

This is actually the first that we’ve heard regarding Carmichael and the Bears. Chicago is reported to have interest in other candidates such as: Broncos OC Mike McCoy, Buccaneers OC Mike Sullivan, Falcons ST coordinator Keith Armstrong, Cowboys ST coordinator Joe DeCamillis and even Packers OC Tom Clements.

The Saints’ offense in recent years has been prolific to say the least, so it makes sense that NFL teams would at least consider the idea of adding someone that was a part of that offensive unit. From every indication, the Bears are focused on building around Jay Cutler and bringing in an offensive-minded head coach next season.

  1. Oooooooooooh, now this could be very good!! He worked great with Drew Brees, but that again Brees is the best QB in the NFL and arguably in the history of the NFL
