Michael C. Wright of ESPN Chicago is “hearing” that the Bears will meet with free agent DT Jay Ratliff‘s agent at the Combine this weekend.
- Wright adds that the Bears also interested in re-signing CB Kelvin Hayden.
Ratliff, 32, has been mentioned as a candidate to return to Chicago for a few months now, so this news doesn’t come as a much of a surprise.
The Bears signed him to the veteran’s minimum back in Week 8 of last season. Ratliff totaled 9 tackles and 1.5 sacks for Chicago over the course of five games.
Pro Football Focus gave him a below average rating, although he has dealt with numerous injuries in recent years.
He could be a reasonably priced option for Chicago as they look to bolster their interior defensive line depth in the coming months.
