Report: Bears Re-Sign C Roberto Garza

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bears have re-signed C Roberto Garza to a one-year deal.

  • Michael C. Wright reports that Garza will receive a one year contract worth $1.5 million.

The Bears had mentioned that they were hoping to bring Garza back next season, so this move doesn’t come as a huge surprise.

Garza, 34, has played the last nine seasons for the Bears after coming over from the Falcons. During his time with Chicago, Garza has only missed two games and been one of the few serviceable offensive linemen they’ve had in recent years.

According to Pro Football Focus, Garza was the No. 12 best center in the league last season and was particularly effective as a pass-protector.
