- Pro Football Talk first reported that the Seattle Seahawks have reached an agreement with DE Michael Bennett on a four-year contract.
Contract Details:
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the Bennett receives a four-year deal worth $28.5 million that includes $16 million is guaranteed.
- Florio adds that Bennett will make $10 million in 2014, $16 million total over the first two years and $21 million as of 2017.
- According to Bennett turned down more money from two teams to re-sign with the Seahawks.
Bennett, 28, did his best to increase his market value this year by recording 8.5 sacks for the Seahawks defense after being forced to sign just a one-year contract last year.
Pro Football Focus actually has had him rated as a top-10 4-3 defensive end for the past two years, so he has clearly earned a long-term deal.
We had him listed as the No. 3 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
