Report: Bears Are Signing QB Jordan Palmer

Adam Schefter and Field Yates of ESPN are reporting that the Chicago Bears will sign QB Jordan Palmer following the injury to Jay Cutler.

Cutler left Sunday’s game against Washington with a groin injury. Cutler was clearly in a good deal of pain and had a hard time walking to the locker room.

Josh McCown stepped in and completed 14 of 20 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown. He had the Bears up by a few points before the Redskins were able to score a game-winning touchdown.

Palmer, 29, was with the Bears during the offseason, but was cut at the end of August. Clearly, they wanted someone who already some familiarity with Marc Trestman’s offensive scheme.

We’ll have more regarding Cutler’s injury as the news is available.
