Report: Bears Work Out WRs Santonio Holmes & Ben Obomanu

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Chicago Bears worked out veteran receivers Santonio Holmes and Ben Obomanu on Tuesday.

  • Ian Rapoport mentions that the Browns has also shown interest in Holmes.

Holmes said previously that he was hoping to sign with a new team during training camp, but there has been any serious interest in recent weeks.

Chicago unfortunately lost Marquess Wilson to a fractured clavicle on Monday, so they could use some help for at least the remainder of the preseason.

Last year, Holmes caught 23 passes for 456 yards receiving and a touchdown over the course of 11 games.

Obomanu, 30, hasn’t found any reported interest throughout the offseason. He last played for the Jets in 2013, but was limited to appearing in three games before the team cut him loose.

We have Holmes listed as the No. 5 player in our recently updated Top 50 – Best Available Free Agents list.
