Report: Bengals Haven’t Started Extension Talks With WR A.J. Green

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, reports that there are no talks regarding a long-term contract between the Cincinnati Bengals and WR A.J. Green

The Bengals are almost certain to pick up Green’s fifth-year option in the coming weeks.

Green, 25, is entering the final year of his rookie contract and can begin negotiating a long-term contract this offseason. He’s already in the discussion for the best receiver in the league and is in position to eventually be paid like one.

As things stand right now, Green will make a little over $3 million for the 2014 season.

Last year, he totaled 98 receptions for 1,426 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 17 receiver in the league.
