Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, is reporting that Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict will be fined $25,000 for twisting Cam Newton‘s and Greg Olsen‘s ankles during last weekend’s game.
Olsen spoke out about Burfict tactics this week and called for the league to take action given that he was openly trying to injure players.
From seeing the clips, it was obvious that Burfict was trying twist their ankles, despite the fact that the plays were already over.
Burfict, 24, returned to the lineup in Week 6 after missing three games due to concussions. He signed a four-year, $20 million extension with the Bengals this offseason and has recorded 18 tackles, a forced fumble and a recovery over the course of three games.
