Report: Bengals Lose CB Leon Hall For The Season

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that Bengals CB Leon Hall did in fact suffer a torn Achilles tendon during Sunday’s win over the Lions.

  • Adam Schefter reports that the Hall has an MRI scheduled for Monday to confirm the injury.

Hall, 28, is in the third year of his five-year, $42.375 million contract. Hall suffered a torn Achilles his other foot last season, so this is a pretty bad situation for a very good cornerback.

He was trying to defend Lions WR Calvin Johnson in the end-zone when he sustained the injury. It was clear right away that he was in a great deal of pain, even though he was able to leave the field under his own power.

The Bengals will likely move forward with Adam Jones and Terence Newman as their starting corners. They also have former first-round pick Dre Kirkpatrick available as well.
