Report: Bills Still Pursuing RB Bilal Powell, Bryce Brown Could Be Out

Tim Graham of the Buffalo News reports that the Bills are, in fact, pursuing Jets free agent RB Bilal Powell, even though they’ve committed to bringing back Fred Jackson.

  • Manish Mehta previously reported Powell was “leaning towards” signing with the Bills and reuniting with former HC Rex Ryan.

This comes less than a week after they traded for RB LeSean McCoy and signed him to a massive contract extension.

According to Graham, the interest Powell likely means Bryce Brown’s days in Buffalo are numbered.

It would be interesting to see the Bills move from Brown less than a year after they traded for him.

Powell, 26, appeared in 15 games for the Jets in 2014 and ran for 141 yards on 33 carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with 11 receptions for 92 yards receiving and one touchdown.

We’ll have more regarding the Bills and Powell as the news is available.
