Report: Colts Lose First-Round Pick Bjoern Werner For 4-6 Weeks

Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star reports that Colts first-round pick OLB Bjoern Werner has sustained a plantar fascia tear during Sunday’s win over Jacksonville.

Werner hasn’t been outstanding in his first few NFL games, but he has at least shown some ability, so adjustments will need to be made in his absence. Pro Football Focus has Werner rated as the No. 32 3-4 outside linebacker out of 41 qualifying players.

Cam Johnson is expected to replace Werner while he’s out, but the Colts also have Robert Mathis and Erik Walden to lean on as well.
