Report: Broncos Not Expected To Re-Sign RB Knowshon Moreno

Ian Rapoport reports that the Denver Broncos do not expect RB Knowshon Moreno to be back after the season.

  • Rapoport adds that Moreno is expected to test the open market in the coming months.

Moreno, 26, put together a breakout season for the Broncos, even after the team drafted Montee Ball in the second-round last year. He managed to top the 1,000 yard mark for the first time in his NFL career while maintaining a 4.3 yards per carry average to go along with 13 total touchdowns.

Moreno’s season comes as a bit of a surprise given that he had been mentioned as a potential release candidate before the start of the season. Denver has Ball, Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson on their roster, but they may want to add a cheap veteran at some point during free agency to round out that group.

We have Moreno listed as the No. 25 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
