Mary Kay Cabot reports that an NFL source expects to see the Browns pursue a trade for Patriots backup QB Ryan Mallett.
Cabot adds that a separate source believes Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is unwilling to trade Mallett at this point in time.
There’s been speculation that Mallett could be a target for the Browns since they hired Michael Lombardi as VP of player personnel. Previous reports indicated that New England could be looking for as much as a second-round pick in return for Mallett.
I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about a potential Mallett trade in coming weeks.
