Report: Buccaneers Acquire G/T Gabe Carimi From Bears For A Late Round Pick

Adam L. Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times confirms that the Buccaneers have acquired G/T Gabe Carimi in a trade with the Bears.

The Bucs have given away a sixth round pick in the 2014 draft in exchange for the last first round pick of the “Jerry Angelo era” in Chicago. Carimi will fly out on Monday to undergo his physical in Tampa Bay and finalize the deal.

Carimi has been a disappointment so far in his NFL career, but appeared to have changed things around after being slotted in at right guard after having been ranked 73rd among 80 offensive tackles in the league.

The Bucs boast one of the most solid offensive lines in the league and Carimi will likely have to compete with RT Demar Dotson or be brought in as insurance for RG Davin Joseph, who is recovering from a severe knee injury from last season.
