Free Agent WR Louis Murphy Visits Bengals Thursday

The Bengals confirmed free agent WR Louis Murphy visited the team Thursday.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Murphy will be visiting with the Bengals on Thursday.
  • Rapoport points out that Murphy spent time working with Bengals OC Hue Jackson while in Oakland a few years ago.

Cincinnati has had a tough offseason thus far and just allowed Andrew Hawkins to sign with the Browns on Tuesday. They could probably use another a receiver, but the Buccaneers also have interest in Murphy.

Ian Rapoport reports that the Buccaneers are meeting with free agent WR Louis Murphy on Tuesday.

  • Rapoport adds that the Buccaneers are still in the market for a receiver.

The Buccaneers have shown interest in available receivers like Emmanuel Sanders and Ted Ginn, but they have yet to add anyone other than WR Eric Page.

Murphy, 26, was taken in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Raiders. He signed a one-year contract with the Giants last year.

In 2013, appeared in 14 games and totaled six receptions for 37 yards receiving and a touchdown while contributing on special teams.
